New frontiers in astronomy at extreme angular resolutions

With a focus on millimeter very long baseline interferometry, specifically the Event Horizon Telescope, I will present the latest results from high angular resolution observations. I will further describe how new EHT data analysis methods can be used to boost the scientific output from other interferometers. I will conclude with an outlook of mm VLBI / EHT in the future and the role the planned Africa Millimeter Telescope will play.
