Lydia Markopoulioti completed her undergraduate studies in the Physics Department at the University of Crete in 2020 and joined the MSc program of Advanced Physics.
 
Career

In the third year of her undergraduate studies (2018), she started working on her diploma thesis, entitled "Classification of stars to normal and intrinsically polarized", under the supervision of Prof. Kostantinos Tassis. For her MSc project she is working on mid-infrared spectroscopy of luminous interacting galaxies under the supervision of Dr. Tanio Diaz Santos.
Interests

Interstellar medium, intrinsically polarized stars, Machine Learning methods in Astrophysics, Observational Astrophysics and polarimetry.

Savathrakis

Savathrakis
Education

Giorgos Savathrakis graduated from the 3rd High School of Heraklion in 2016. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Physics of the University of Crete and joined the MSc program in "Advanced Physics" in 2020. He is also a member of the Students' Astronomy Group of the University of Crete.
Career

He participated as a high school student in the Students' Astronomy and Space Science contest where he reached the third phase of the contest for two consecutive years (2015,2016).  His undergraduate thesis, under the supervision of Professor Andreas Zezas, was on X-ray binary population modelling.

Career

Angelos Karakonstantakis  is currently preparing his MSc thesis, modeling AGN's variability in X-rays, under the supervision of Prof. Iossif Papadakis.
Interests

His research interests are in extragalactic astrophysics with main emphasis on active galactic nuclei.

Anna Konstantinou obtained her BSc in Physics with specialization in "Astrophysics, Astronomy and Mechanics" from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2018. She is currently a master student in the Advanced Physics program of the University of Crete, with a specialisation in Astrophysics and Space Physics.
Career

At the Univ. of Athens she completed her undergraduate thesis, entitled "Spectroscopic study of Solar System bodies in optical wavelengths" (in greek) in order to detect molecular compounds in their atmospheres. She is also member of "Planets In Your Hand" which is a public outreach team that won the prize of the  Europlanet's competition "Public Engagement Funding Scheme 2017".
