Annual meeting of the LSST AGN Science Collaboration

LSST AGN Science Collaboration Announcement Date :

The Institute of Astrophysics of FORTH successfully organized the annual meeting of the LSST AGN Science Collaboration on May 25-28, 2026 at the Science and Cultural Center of FORTH in Heraklion. The meeting "Coordinating Discovery: The first LSST AGN SC Meeting in the Data Era" is the first meeting of the collaboration since the beginning of operations of the Rubin Observatory in Chile. This flagship telescope (primarily funded by the US) has been designed and built for over two decades and is expected to start its main survey (the Legacy Survey of Space and Time—LSST) in just a few weeks

The conference brought together experts from over 20 countries from every continent to present recent results and strategize about future directions of the collaboration.  The meeting was fully hybrid with ~40 in person participants and ~95 registered for remote participation. With several discussion and interactive sessions, the conference catalyzed important future collaborations with remarkable involvement from early career scientists.

Details about the meeting (including the schedule and list of participants) can be found on the conference website. The meeting was funded by the ERC MMMonsters grant (PI: Maria Charisi)
