The detection of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays and high-energy neutrinos suggests the presence of sources that act as hadronic particle accelerators of the Universe. Relativistic jets launched from the nuclei of active galaxies (AGN) are ideal candidates for the acceleration of hadrons to high energies and the subsequent production of high-energy neutrinos. In this talk, I will present models used to describe the high-energy emission expected from AGN jets containing relativistic hadrons, and discuss prospects for identifying such hadronic accelerators with existing and next-generation experiments.
