Jets are ubiquitous in Astronomy, and are observed in many different objects, from stellar-size objects, such as X-ray binaries and gamma-ray bursts (GRBS), to Active Galactic Nuclei. As such, their formation and properties are one of the most fundamental puzzles in modern Astrophysics. Advances in parallel computation on the one hand, and the plethora of observations on the other, enable, in the last decade, several major breakthroughs in understanding the underlying mechanisms. In this talk I will review the recent developments in this field, focusing on the similarities and differences expected from jets in XRBS/AGNs and GRBs.
