Ms Kateriniovi Triantafyllaki is senior undergraduate student of the University of Crete and member of the student's astronomy group.

Career

Along with her studies, she has been an intern at Skinakas Observatory (2018) and at the Observatory of the Jagiellonian University of Krakow (2019) where she worked under the supervision of Łukasz Stawarz on  intra-night luminosity variability of blazar sources. She is currently finishing her undergraduate thesis on X-ray binaries systems under the supervision of Dr. Pablo Reig.

During the summer of 2019 he engaged in problems regarding inflation, the accelerated expansion of the universe right after it's birth, under the supervision of professors Nikos Tsamis and Richard Woodard. At the same time, he is simulating magnetic fields in galaxies with Dr. Evangelia Ntormousi and Prof. Konstantinos Tassis.

Katia Gkimisi graduated from the 1st High School of Agia Paraskevi, Athens and entered the undergraduate program in the Department of Physics, University of Crete in 2016.
 

Career

In 2018 she started a project on intrinsically polarized stars, under the supervision of professor Konstantinos Tassis. She then commenced her undergraduate thesis in which, with the help of PhD candidate Rafael Skalidis, she is going to analyze data taken outside the mask of the RoboPol instrument.

Alexandra Pouliasi is an undergraduate student at the Physics Department of the University of Crete since 2015.

Career

While an undergraduate student, she completed her bachelor’s thesis entitled "Potential for Detection of Ultra-High-Energy-Cosmic Ray Sources", under the supervision of Prof. Vasiliki Pavlidou. During the summer of 2017 she worked as an intern at Skinakas Observatory where she was trained to use the Robopol polarimeter. Results of her observations contributed to a refereed publication “Search for AGN counterparts of unidentified Fermi-LAT sources with optical polarimetry: Demonstration of the technique”, 2019,  Astronomy & Astrophysics 623, 61.
