Alexandra Pouliasi is an undergraduate student at the Physics Department of the University of Crete since 2015.

Career

While an undergraduate student, she completed her bachelor’s thesis entitled "Potential for Detection of Ultra-High-Energy-Cosmic Ray Sources", under the supervision of Prof. Vasiliki Pavlidou. During the summer of 2017 she worked as an intern at Skinakas Observatory where she was trained to use the Robopol polarimeter. Results of her observations contributed to a refereed publication “Search for AGN counterparts of unidentified Fermi-LAT sources with optical polarimetry: Demonstration of the technique”, 2019,  Astronomy & Astrophysics 623, 61.

Interests

Observational Astrophysics, Machine learning methods in astrophysics, Galactic Astronomy.
