In response to an ESA call, scientists from the Institute of Astrophysics-FORTH and the Dept. of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, were selected to organise a workshop for the use of the James Webb Space Telescope, a 6.5m NASA facility expected to be launched on March 2021, which will also have mid-IR capabilities. The goal of the workshop is to familiarise the greek astronomical community with the JWST scientific goals, instruments, and proposal preparation tools, so that they can competitively apply for JWST time. Given that the deadline for Cycle 1 Open Time proposals is on May 1st 2020, the workshop will take place on February 27 and 28, 2020, at the Kostis Palamas building of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, located at Academias 48 str.

Attendance of the  Master Class is free but it's mandatory to register before Jan. 12, 2020, through the website: http://astro.phys.uoa.gr/jwst2020.html
