Education :

Eugene Malygin obtained his Specialist degree (BSc + MSc) in Astronomy from Kazan Federal University in 2020 and completed his PhD in Astrophysics at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2023.

Career :

For several years, he carried out observations with the optical 6-m BTA telescope and the 1-m Zeiss telescope at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences, studying supermassive black holes, as well as the geometry and behaviour of matter in the central parsec of AGNs through reverberation mapping and polarized light. In 2026, he joined the BOOTES ERC project at IA-FORTH as a postdoctoral researcher.

Interests :

Supermassive black holes, active galactic nuclei, optical (spectro)polarimetry, reverberation mapping
