Abstract :
Is there research beyond academia? In this presentation I will talk about my personal experience in the corporate world, focusing on the data science project I supervised, showing what can be done and what can be learned. I will additionally discuss which competencies are required to make the "jump" from astrophysics to the dark side of the industry, and how to introduce yourself. I will give an overview of what is seeked for, and what type of job you may expect to practically perform in your daily life. Finally, I will present a demo of a project I am currently leading in my company, and specifically I will introduce a Quantum Machine Learning platform that we are developing for educational and simple analytic pre-analysis.

P.S. The basic motivation behind these seminars is to learn from experienced individuals with first-hand experience what it takes to make a successful transition in various fields of the private sector, relying on skills that one has developed studying astrophysics. These will not be “lectures" but rather discussions where exciting career opportunities will be presented to all and questions we may have could possibly be answered.
